Dot and Sorrel live and work in Norfolk. Aside from their respective arts practices, they’ve worked together on participatory arts projects since 2013, collaborating as Eyebrow Arts.

This work is predominantly with people with dementia and adults with learning disabilities in care settings, supported by Arts Council England and Norfolk County Council. Projects have included ‘Home and Castle’ (2016) at Norwich Castle Museum/British Arts Show 8, ‘Peregrination’ (2020) at

Norwich Cathedral with Holly Bodmer for Norfolk and Norwich Festival, ‘Something Out of Nothing’ (2016) at Norwich Arts Centre, ‘An Invitation’ (2019) touring 30+ care homes in Norfolk and Suffolk.

Dot is an artist and participatory arts practitioner from London, now living in Norfolk UK. She has a BA in Fine Art from Central St Martins and an MA in Visual Performance from Dartington School of Art. She is an Associate Artist at Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts.

 

Dot uses live art as a tool for engaging adults with learning disabilities and people living with dementia in care settings and arts venues. Building rapport through multi-sensory, in-the-moment interaction. Dot’s work in these areas has moved into more public domains such as festivals, galleries and theatres including Norfolk and Norwich Festival, The Royal Opera House, The British Art Show 8, Barbican Art Box, Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts and several independent publicly funded projects. Dot’s long-term practice as a performance artist has also seen her perform solo in venues including the Royal Festival Hall, South London Gallery, Edinburgh Festival, Spill Festival and Firstsite.

 

Dot is a Therapeutic Clown with Clown Round, run by Suffolk Artlink: focusing on the joy of being in the moment, improvising & offering creative fun to hospital patients and their carers.

 

Sorrel Muggridge (B.1976)

 

Sorrel is an artist and participatory arts practitioner from Sussex now living and working in Norfolk UK. She has a BA hons in Contemporary Arts from Nottingham Trent University. She has taught at Nottingham Trent university and De Montford university Leicester. She is currently an Associate Artist at the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts.

 

Sorrel makes site-specific live art works and installations, which invite audiences to consider these spaces/places from a new perspective. Sorrel’s works are live and dynamic, responding to the people as much as the place, inviting active engagement, using improvisation and responsive rapport to create connection and uniquely individual moments within the work. She regularly collaborates with Canadian artist Laura Nanni. Sorrel has presented work across the UK and abroad in festivals and residencies, including: Summer Works Festival Toronto CA, Norfolk and Norwich Festival UK, Homo Novus Riga Latvia, Lift festival London UK, Wunderbar3 festival Newcastle UK, and The Banff Centre Canada Walking and Art residency.

 

Alongside her work as an Artist, Sorrel is a Forest School Leader, supporting children and young people to play, connect with nature, fostering their inner strengths and creative curiosity in Norfolk.
